Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Complete work
   • In-service mechanical plant checks are completed and control measures are returned to required operational status, where appropriate, in accordance with workplace procedures
   • Appropriate personnel are notified of completion of work, in accordance with workplace procedures
   • In-service mechanical plant problems or abnormalities are reported, in accordance with workplace procedures
   • In-service mechanical plant results are interpreted and documented, in accordance with workplace procedures
2. Plan for mechanicalplant in-service checks
   • Safety issues and Work, Health and Safety (WHS)/Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations and industry standards are identified, in accordance with workplace procedures
3. Work, in-service mechanical plant and resource requirements are identified from work orders and documentation, in accordance with workplace procedures
4. In-service mechanical plant status and work requirements are confirmed with appropriate personnel or by site inspection, in accordance with workplace procedures
5. Equipment is checked for correct calibration and operation and materials or components are obtained and inspected, in accordance with workplace procedures
6. Potential hazards are identified and risk control measures are selected, in accordance with workplace procedures
7. Pre-access checks on in-service mechanical plant are carried out, in accordance with workplace procedures and site requirements
8. Carry out in-service mechanical plantcheck
   • In-service mechanical plant is operated, in accordance with workplace procedures and manufacturers' recommendations
9. In-service mechanical plant checks are monitored and observed, in accordance with workplace procedures, to detect deviations from normal operation
10. Corrective actions are taken to rectify in-service mechanical plant abnormalities, in accordance with manufacturers' recommendations and workplace procedures
11. In-service mechanical plant checks are performed, in accordance with workplace procedures
12. In-service mechanical plant integrity and personnel safety are maintained, in accordance with workplace procedures, and in consultation with personnel and technical and operational documentation
